Street Safe Kids

In our time we have worked with schools and taught kids clubs independently. We believe that kids need positive direction, because as they get older, they become more and more exposed to dangers such as drugs, alcohol and gang culture. We believe in educating children so that they are aware of the dangers of the streets and the consequences of getting involved with harmful activities, including how to deal with an attack.

We know that kids and adults are completely different, both physically and mentally and we are aware that much of what we teach adults isn’t particularly relevant to juniors, so we have adapted a syllabus that is suitable for kids to learn.

As a result we have developed a non-violent solution for kids that is designed to teach them skills to keep them safe on the streets, but also includes non-aggressive self defence techniques that are intended to help them escape from a situation, not to fight.

We also know that kids often have the attention span of a goldfish, so we aim to make the sessions as fun and beneficial as possible.

Our junior syllabus (aimed at the under 14’s years) includes:

  • Stranger danger
  • Awareness
  • Street safety
  • Basic self protection skills
  • Staying out of trouble
  • How to combat bullying

We also know that as children become teenagers, the dangers they face change as they are growing up and exposed to more of the world. Our syllabus aimed at teenagers (15-18 years) also covers:

  • Dangers of alcohol and drugs and how they affect perception and judgement
  • How chemicals affect your ability to defend yourself
  • How to get away quickly and get help
  • How to talk to the authorities, parents and teachers if they have experienced an attack
  • Dangers of carrying knives and knife crime
  • Dangers of gang culture

As well as courses, we are also available to provide talks, demonstrations and lectures for school children and Sixth formers. For more details, please contact us.
